God speaks to Abram and tells him to get out of his country and He will make him great. God will make him a great nation, make his name great, bless him. Those who bless or curse him will receive the same in kind. And in him all the families of the earth shall be blessed (12:1-3). Later God tells Abrams, who had no heir, that his descendants would be like the stars. “And he believed in the Lord, and He accounted it to him for righteousness “ (15:6). Abe believed and so can we. Faith is believing and it still is the path to justification and righteousness (Ro. 4:5). We are sons of the faith, and we are blessed with Abraham (Gal. 3:6-9). We are blessed, bless the Lord.

Satan may be a loser but we who know Christ are winners. Here are a few verses from chapter 8 to back that up. “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? (v 31). “ He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him freely give us all things? (v32). “ Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us (v 37). And as the chapter closes, we learn that nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord (39). Christ gained the victory, and we are winners because of it.

Prayer is verbalizing what we are in need of, with faith in a God who can answer. I can pray all day long. But if I do not believe God will, or can, answer that prayer I’m spinning my wheels. One thing I do to build my faith is to read scriptures on prayer. A good one in today’s reading is 7:7. “ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you” Yesterday I spoke about 5 things Lucifer said using I will. They did not happen. But today we have 3 wills, and they are said by Jesus. They are definitive. They will happen. Now that should get your wheels going. Or should I say your “wills” going!

Our world has seen plenty of destruction in the course of its history. Imagine if the destroyer had succeeded with his plan. In chapter 14 Lucifer said I will 5 times. God said you won’t and cast him down. He wanted to be over heaven. He wanted his throne above the stars of God, which can mean princes. He wanted at the top of the congregation. He wanted control of the clouds. History has shown us that some of the most destructive forces have been corrupt governments, false religions and weather. What would the world be like had Satan achieved his goal ? And his last I will? He was going to be like the Most High. He fell for the same desire that he used on Eve. Thank God our God is the Most High and Lucifer is not. The L on his monogrammed shirt doesn’t stand for Lucifer. It, thank God, stands for loser.
